    Michael Davern
    HEAD OF D&F AND ENERGY

    Michael joined Fidelis from AXA XL in March 2020. After graduating from Oxford University with a Master of Physics degree in 2003, he joined Lane Clark & Peacock Actuarial Consultancy. He joined Catlin in 2008 and qualified as Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA). He was the property actuary responsible for pricing, reserving and capital modelling for all property lines worldwide across the group. He moved over onto the underwriting side in 2010 as class underwriter writing International and US D&F property business for the Lloyd’s of London Syndicate. He progressed to Underwriting Manager and established the middle market cost centre writing a combination of delegated authority and open market business. Michael will be writing a shared and layered D&F portfolio through the London Market Wholesale Broker network.

  • Kelly Sanders
    SENIOR UNDERWRITER

    Kelly joined Fidelis in September 2020 from StarStone where she developed and managed the Property Programmes portfolio, which included the ILS Property CAT programmes.   Prior to this Kelly was Class Underwriter for StarStone’s Property D&F portfolio. Kelly started her career in Sydney working at Royal & Sun Alliance and Vero before moving to London in 2007 where she was an Account Manager at FM Global.

    Mark Herget
    SENIOR UNDERWRITER *pending immigration approval

    Mark joined Fidelis in May 2020 as an Underwriter for Property Direct & Facultative. Mark began his career at Commonwealth Insurance Company in Vancouver Canada in 2004, becoming the Senior Underwriter for production and marketing throughout the US. In 2012 Mark moved to London to work in the Lloyd’s of London marketplace where he helped build the Navigators and Vibe property portfolios. Mark has a BA degree in Education from the University of Alberta.

  • Richard Holden
    CEO OF REINSURANCE & CUO BERMUDA

    Rich Holden joined Fidelis in 2015. Richard’s career started in the London market at Wellington Underwriting, a leading Lloyd’s syndicate. After spending his initial years in the marine team, Richard moved to Reinsurance in 2004 to help build a new global reinsurance portfolio. In 2007 he joined Amlin Bermuda, to facilitate the growth of their North American Treaty portfolio. By 2013 he was a leading class underwriter.  In 2015 Richard joined Fidelis to Head the North American Underwriting team, focusing on inwards and outwards Reinsurance, portfolio management and developing proprietary rating tools. Richard is a member of the Executive Committee.

  • Samantha Message
    UNDERWRITER 

    Samantha joined Fidelis in 2021.  Prior to this, she has held underwriting positions at Ascot Group, HSB Engineering and AXA XL underwriting renewable energy, construction, marine hull and war.  Samantha began her career in insurance in 2007 and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurers.  She graduated from Imperial College London with an MSci in Chemistry.

  • Tom Hilton
    UNDERWRITER

    Tom joined Fidelis from Canopius in 2021. After graduating from University of Nottingham, Tom began his career with ANV Syndicate in 2012. He is primarily focused on Open Market Property, with experience writing Fire and Cat business across US and International territories. Tom is ACII qualified and has held the position of Underwriter since 2015.

  • Jahvon Washington 
    ASSISTANT UNDERWRITER

    Jahvon joined Fidelis in 2015. Originally working in the operations department he switched to underwriting supporting North American Underwriting. He now supports the Property Reinsurance team on whole being both International and North America. Jahvon graduated from St. John’s University in New York City with a degree in Risk Management and Insurance. He also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate  in Reinsurance (ARe) designations.

  • Mercedesz Musincki
    UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT

    Mercedesz joined Fidelis in 2017, supporting several functions through her rotational internship programme. Mercedesz gained significant international experience in India and China whilst completing her BA degree in Business Management with Law from Pearson College London. Mercedesz currently works as an Underwriting Assistant for Property Direct & Facultative.

  • Chris Thompson
    UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT

    Chris joined Fidelis in 2021 after graduating from the University of Southampton. His Business Analytics degree culminated in a dissertation focussed on Disaster Risk Management. Chris obtained valuable broking and underwriting experience during his internships at BMS and Faraday respectively. Chris is now an Underwriting Assistant for the Property Direct & Facultative team.
