    Richard Holden

    Rich Holden joined Fidelis in 2015. Richard’s career started in the London market at Wellington Underwriting, a leading Lloyd’s syndicate. After spending his initial years in the marine team, Richard moved to Reinsurance in 2004 to help build a new global reinsurance portfolio. In 2007 he joined Amlin Bermuda, to facilitate the growth of their North American Treaty portfolio. By 2013 he was a leading class underwriter.  In 2015 Richard joined Fidelis to Head the North American Underwriting team, focusing on inwards and outwards Reinsurance, portfolio management and developing proprietary rating tools. Richard is a member of the Executive Committee.

    Philip Vandoninck

    Philip joined Fidelis after a highly successful decade with Hiscox. Joining the firm’s Belgian office in 2004, he moved to the non-marine treaty reinsurance team at Hiscox’s Lloyd’s syndicate before helping to set up the company’s Bermuda office in 2005. In Bermuda, he underwrote within an extensive global property reinsurance and retrocession portfolio, becoming Head of International Property Reinsurance Business in 2013. With the creation of Hiscox Re, Philip became Chairman of International Reinsurance, responsible for underwriting in Bermuda, London and Paris. Philip is a member of the Executive Committee.

  • Daniel Burrows

    Dan joined Fidelis in 2015. Prior to this he was co-CEO of AonBenfield’s Global ReSpeciality (GRS) division from 2013 until 2015. Specialising in non-marine retrocession and the aviation, marine and energy sectors, among others, he supported all of AonBenfield’s business hubs across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he was Deputy CEO of the GRS division from 2008 until 2013. He began his career as a non-marine property broker at Greig Fester in the 1980s, later joining the retrocession team and then leading that team following a merger with Benfield in 1997. Dan is a member of the Executive Committee.

    Ben Fortune

    Ben has worked in the London market for 8 years in a number of roles including actuarial, broking and underwriting. He joins Fidelis from London ILS Fund Leadenhall Capital Partners, where he was responsible for Retro, ILW and Specialty Investments as well as leading the company’s analytical work. Before then, Ben worked in the Aon Benfield retro team, providing pricing and structuring support for brokers.

    Kevin Adams

    Kevin has been in the reinsurance industry for 10 years. He joined Fidelis in 2017 from Guy Carpenter in Philadelphia where he was Vice President in Treaty Broking and brings a background in catastrophe modelling and exposure analytics. Kevin has a strong knowledge of the US Mutual Marketplace having worked with many mutual insurance companies.

    Brian Espie

    Brian has 15 years of industry experience across a number of roles evaluating catastrophic risk. He joins Fidelis from Tokio Millennium Re in Bermuda where he was a Vice President responsible for North American catastrophe underwriting. Prior to his five years at TMR, Brian spent eight years with Tokio Marine Technologies, a subsidiary focused on R&D for companies within the Tokio Marine Group.

    Matthew Bellamy

    Matthew joined Fidelis in November 2019.  After graduating from the University of Southampton in 2006, Matthew joined Amlin, where he was an Underwriter in the Property Reinsurance team.  He joined the Acappella Syndicate in 2014 to develop the North American Reinsurance book, eventually being appointed Head of Property Treaty in 2017 and then Deputy Active Underwriter for the Syndicate in 2018.

    Jason joined Fidelis in 2015. Having originally been involved across all lines of business, Jason is now focusing on Property Reinsurance specifically in North America. Jason graduated from Bates College in Maine with a degree in Politics and Mathematics.

  • Nadia Schmidt

    Nadia joined Fidelis in 2021 from Willis Re where she led the London desk handling German, Austrian and Swiss client reinsurance business. Nadia was also responsible for Willis Re’s International Alternative Capital Practice Group. In her role she managed global accounts as well as regional clients with a focus on German speaking markets. Nadia has a strong technical background, obtaining a diploma degree in Mathematics from the University of Leipzig and qualifying as an actuary with the German Institute of Actuaries in 2019.

  • Oliver Campbell

    Ollie has 12 years of industry experience in the broking sector. He joins Fidelis from Aon, where he was a Global Client Account Executive for one of Aon’s broadest client relationships as well as being part of the leadership team of the UK & Ireland reinsurance business. Prior to that, Ollie trained at Willis Re where he performed a multi-class role focussed on the UK market.

  • Keith Jernigan

    Keith joined Fidelis in 2018 after completing his BSc in Finance and International Business from the University of Maryland, College Park. He moved to London to complete his MSc in Insurance & Risk Management from City University, CASS Business School whilst continuing to support Fidelis across the underwriting, risk capital, and catastrophe modelling teams. Upon receiving a distinction, Keith now focuses on Property Reinsurance specifically in North America.

    Paget Hengesbaugh joined Fidelis in 2020 as an Underwriting Assistant for the International and North American property teams. Paget graduated from university in 2019 with a Masters in International Business. After graduating university, she was employed by Renaissance Re in finance and operation roles, and previously interned at Tokio Millennium Re for 3 years.

  • Simon Crone

    Simon joined Fidelis in 2019 from AmTrust where he was the Chief Underwriting Officer for the Mortgage & Credit division. Simon has over 20 years of experience in insurance in a variety of roles ranging from underwriting to operations to project management. Previously he was at General Electric and Genworth Financial. Simon holds a Masters of Engineering from the University of Cape Town.

  • Seán Harty

    Seán joined Fidelis in April 2020. He has over 6 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. He most recently worked with ffh Management Services (Fairfax company) where he held Reinsurance Technician and Team Leader roles. Seán also completed a 24 week intercompany rotation programme in London with Advent Syndicate in 2017 with the Exposure Management and Casualty Treaty teams. Seán graduated from the University of Limerick in 2013 (BBS degree majoring in Risk Management and Insurance) and holds the Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

  • Lesley Grace

    Lesley Grace joined Fidelis in 2021 as an Assistant Underwriter. Prior to this Lesley worked as a Captive Underwriter for Willis Towers Watson, and also as an Underwriter for the self-managed captive Leaseplan Insurance. Lesley started her career in 2010 working for RSA in their Claims team, and she also worked as a documentation specialist in the Governance team in FBD Insurance. Lesley has a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from the University of Limerick (majoring in Risk Management and Insurance), and holds the Advanced Diploma in Insurance (ACII) through the CII.


  • Connor Astwood

    Connor joined the Fidelis North America Property Reinsurance Team in 2021. Connor previously worked on the Underwriting and Portfolio Construction team for ILS fund Elementum Advisors and as a catastrophe modeler at Tokio Millennium Re. Before joining the (re)insurance industry, Connor was a team member of Softbank Team Japan (challenging for the 35th America’s Cup) and sailed in various high-level events including the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup and the M32 World Match Race Tour as tactician.
