Richard Brindle

Group Chief Executive Officer

Before helping to establish Fidelis, Richard was the driving force behind Lancashire, founding the company in 2005 and acting as CEO until April 2014. Lancashire’s innovative and rigorous underwriting approach meant it consistently outperformed its insurance peers. Richard’s insurance career began in 1984 at Posgate and Denby Managing Agency, and since then has included spells at Syndicate 488, Charman Underwriting – where he was the main underwriter – Tarquin Underwriting from 1991 to 1998, and Ascot Underwriting Agency, where he was a non-executive board member.

Daniel Burrows

UK Chief Executive Officer

Daniel was co-CEO of AonBenfield’s Global ReSpeciality (GRS) division from 2013 until 2015. Specialising in non-marine retrocession and the aviation, marine and energy sectors, among others, he supported all of AonBenfield’s business hubs across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Prior to this, he was Deputy CEO of the GRS division from 2008 until 2013. He began his career as a non-marine property broker at Greig Fester in the 1980s, later joining the retrocession team and then leading that team following a merger with Benfield in 1997.

Belinda Tribley Chiaramonte

Group Chief Human Resources Officer

Belinda joined Fidelis from Expertise, Bermuda’s largest management consultant and business process outsourcing company, where she was a partner since 2002. Expertise worked mainly with financial services clients, and Belinda served as Practice Leader for the HR consulting, recruitment, accounting and payroll services, among others. She also served as co-Managing Partner, overseeing the group’s financial and legal aspects, premises and business development and marketing. Prior to this, Belinda held management positions in operations and human resources at Bacardi Limited, Bank of Bermuda and L D Foods.

Sharon Ingham

Group Financial Controller / UK CFO

With almost a decade of experience in insurance and reinsurance, Sharon joined Fidelis from Catlin. The Bermuda-based speciality insurance and reinsurance company has the largest syndicate at Lloyd’s, and Sharon’s roles at Catlin included UK Head of Reporting, with responsibility for all external reporting for UK Catlin entities, and Head of Group Reporting. Before joining Catlin, Sharon worked for KPMG in Bermuda. She trained as a Chartered Accountant in London and was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2005.

Laurent Jeanmart

Group Chief Investment Officer

Laurent joined Fidelis in 2016. He was previously Global Head of Investment at Platinum Capital Management Ltd, where his responsibilities included overseeing the firm’s actively managed funds and its funds of hedge funds. Laurent’s early career included spells at BNP Paribas SA, Lazard LLC and GLG Partners LP, and he served as Head of Hedge Funds Research and Investments at Signia Wealth Ltd prior to joining Platinum.

Charles Mathias

Group Chief Risk Officer

With almost 30 years’ experience as an underwriter and broker, Charles joined Fidelis from Lancashire, where as Chief Risk Officer he was responsible for the group’s enterprise risk management function. He joined Lancashire at its launch in 2005, and his roles for the group included Chief Underwriting Officer of the Bermuda entity and Group Underwriting Operations Director. Charles began his career at Leslie and Godwin, moving to Alexander Howden in Mexico before becoming Senior Vice President of an MGA in Texas. Prior to Lancashire, he returned to London as a property and speciality executive for RK Harrison.

Neil McConachie

Group Chief Financial Officer

Working closely with Richard Brindle, Neil was instrumental in the set up and success of Lancashire. Between 2006 and 2012, his roles at the company included Chief Financial Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Chief Operating Officer and President. He also served as an Executive Director and, from 2012 until 2014, as a Non-Executive Director. Prior to Lancashire, Neil worked at Stockton Holdings in Bermuda, PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Bermuda, and as Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Accounting Officer of Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd.

Hinal Patel

Group Chief Actuary

Hinal has responsibility for the actuarial, catastrophe modelling and capital modelling functions at Fidelis. He came to Fidelis from Catlin, where he was the Bermuda Chief Actuary from 2011 until 2015. After graduating from the London School of Economics, Hinal began his career at actuarial consultancy Bacon & Woodrow. He went on to work for Mercer, before joining Catlin in the London office in October 2003, with responsibility for providing actuarial support to the Reinsurance business group. His role expanded in 2009 to oversee the actuarial support for the short tail classes of business in the UK. He was appointed Chief Actuary for Catlin Bermuda in 2011. Within that role, Hinal oversaw the actuarial, catastrophe modelling and capital functions for the Bermuda entity. Hinal is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries.

Patricia Roufca

Group General Counsel

Patricia joined Fidelis in 2016 after more than a decade at Aspen Insurance Holdings in London. She was Associate Group General Counsel from 2007 to 2016, Group Company Secretary from 2011 to 2016 and Group Head of Legal from 2014 to 2016. While at Aspen, Patricia advised the Board on governance matters, evaluated and executed strategic initiatives including UK and US acquisitions, led capital raises and successfully defended an attempted hostile takeover. Prior to Aspen, she was a Senior Associate at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae, L.L.P. in New York.

Ben Savill

BDA CEO and Group Chief Underwriting Officer

With 18 years’ reinsurance underwriting experience, Ben joined Fidelis from Amlin Bermuda, where he led the North American Market Unit. His responsibilities included underwriting Amlin’s US reinsurance property portfolio and handling specialty lines business. Ben began his career at Harvey Bowring, a Lloyd's syndicate managed by the Amlin group. He has been heavily involved in many facets of reinsurance, including the development of internal rating models and portfolio analysis systems, and the integration of proprietary ratings tools and risk analysis methodologies.

Andy Wetmiller

Chief Technology Officer

With over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, Andy joined Fidelis from Hiscox Re in 2015. As Head of Systems and Lead System Architect he was responsible for the architecture, design, construction and support of their core business systems, leveraging his deep technical knowledge and business expertise. Prior to joining Hiscox in 2011, Andy held several roles with companies in Canada and Bermuda, including the Royal Bank of Canada Financial Group, Paragon Bermuda, Logic Communications, and his own consulting firm FAIT Accomplis Solutions Inc.

Nick Cook

Underwriter

With 9 years of industry experience Nick joins from RKH Specialty where he was the Divisional Director for the wholesale team in the Political Risk and Structured Credit division. Prior to joining RKH Nick spent 3 years working at Marsh where he worked in Captive Consulting before joining the Political Risk and Structured Credit team. Nick has been an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurers for 7 years.

Richard Coulson

Head of Specialty

With twelve years of insurance industry experience, including spells both broking and underwriting, Richard joined Fidelis from RK Harrison, where he was Executive Director of Political Risk and Structured Capital. His early career included spells at MMC Capital and Marsh, where he focused on structuring alternative risk transfer and captive solutions. After serving as a partner at JLT, specialising in credit, political risk and security, Richard joined Hiscox. He spent three years underwriting the company’s space and satellite and energy books, before returning to broking. Richard was elected a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Insurers and Chartered Institute of Risk Management seven years ago.

Kate DaSilva

Head of Mergers and Acquisitions

Before joining the team at Fidelis to develop our transactional risk offering, Kate was a Transactional Risk Broker for Marsh, with a focus on developing innovative W&I and title insurance solutions for clients, particularly in the real estate, renewable and infrastructure sectors. Having trained and practiced as a solicitor in Birmingham, Brussels and London, Kate worked as an Assistant Corporate Solicitor for Cobbetts LLP from 2008 to 2010 and as a Solicitor for Stikeman Elliott LLP from 2010 to 2014. Kate's practice specialised on cross border natural resources work with engagements for specific transactions (RTOs, IPOs, secondary fundraises advising target, board or the encumbered bank/broker) and also ongoing engagements for continued corporate compliance work.

Charlotte Goodgame

Underwriter

Charlotte is an Underwriter in our Transactional Risk Insurance team, with over 3 years of experience in the market. After graduating from the University of Bristol with a BSC in Biochemistry and a MSC in Water and Environmental Management, Charlotte joined the Private Equity and M&A broking team at Marsh. Charlotte completed the Marsh Graduate Development Scheme in 2015 achieving ACII status in the process. During her time as project manager at Marsh, Charlotte acted on behalf of private equity and corporate clients to structure transactional risk insurance solutions that allowed for successful transfer of risks and liabilities associated with M&A transactions. Charlotte has advised on over 400 transactions, with experience in managing the transactional risk insurance placement process for cross-border deals, spanning a variety of industries including real estate, renewable energy, manufacturing and varying in transaction size from £5 million to £1 billion.

Jeppe Nielsen

Underwriter

Jeppe joined Fidelis from Hiscox where he worked in the Upstream Energy within the London Market division. Jeppe spent 2 years at Hiscox as a Graduate Underwriter, which included a stint in the Hiscox MGA office in Miami where he focused on originating Latin America Energy business. Prior to Hiscox, Jeppe gained experience through internships at Aon and within various sectors of the petroleum industry. Jeppe graduated with an MSc in Security Studies from UCL in 2014.

Kevin Adams

Underwriter

Kevin has been in the reinsurance industry for 10 years. He joins Fidelis from Guy Carpenter in Philadelphia where he was Vice President in Treaty Broking and brings a background in catastrophe modelling and exposure analytics. Kevin has a strong knowledge of the US Mutual Marketplace having worked with many mutual insurance companies.

Ben Fortune

Underwriter

Ben has worked in the London market for 8 years in a number of roles including actuarial, broking and underwriting. He joins Fidelis from London ILS Fund Leadenhall Capital Partners, where he was responsible for Retro, ILW and Specialty Investments as well as leading the company’s analytical work. Before then, Ben worked in the Aon Benfield retro team, providing pricing and structuring support for brokers.

Richard Holden

Head of North American Underwriting

Previously Leading Class Underwriter for Amlin Bermuda, Richard has substantial experience of inwards and outwards reinsurance, portfolio management and developing proprietary pricing tools. He joined Amlin in 2007, specialising in North American treaty reinsurance. By 2013, the North American portfolio had grown to become the second largest in the London broker market. Richard’s career began in the Lloyd's market at Wellington Underwriting, where he was instrumental in building their reinsurance team.

Ben Savill

BDA CEO and Group Chief Underwriting Officer

With 18 years’ reinsurance underwriting experience, Ben joined Fidelis from Amlin Bermuda, where he led the North American Market Unit. Philip Vandoninck

Head of International Underwriting

Philip joined Fidelis after a highly successful decade with Hiscox. Joining the firm’s Belgian office in 2004, he moved to the non-marine treaty reinsurance team at Hiscox’s Lloyd’s syndicate before helping to set up the company’s Bermuda office in 2005. In Bermuda, he underwrote within an extensive global property reinsurance and retrocession portfolio, becoming Head of International Property Reinsurance Business in 2013. With the creation of Hiscox Re, Philip became Chairman of International Reinsurance, responsible for underwriting in Bermuda, London and Paris.

John Ringold

Head of Operations

John Ringold joined Fidelis in November 2015 as Head of Insurance Operations. He was previously employed by Lancashire in various roles since 2006, and upon departure he headed up the Bermuda Operations and Claims functions. Prior to joining Lancashire, John worked at KPMG in Bermuda. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a practicing member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Bermuda, and holds an Associate in Reinsurance.

Sam Drysdale

Head of Claims & Delegated Underwriting Management

Sam joined Fidelis from Renaissance Re Syndicate Management, where he was the Assistant Manager of Claims. The role, which Sam held from 2012-16, involved managing the Syndicate’s team of claims adjusters, handling claims arising from all classes of business written, onboarding and managing claims TPAs, as well as formulating the returns related to Lloyd’s Claims Minimum Standards and Conduct Risk Minimum Standards. Prior to working at Renaissance Re, Sam was a Reinsurance Claims Adjuster at Brit Insurance Group, where he gained significant experience in a number of specialist sectors now within Fidelis’ portfolio, including marine, energy and aviation.
